The Japan Times included in a report earlier this month that Thailand has received the first export of fish from the scene of a nuclear and radioactive leak that occurred in Fukushima, Japan, 2011. Some of the Thai public are outraged and have turned to the internet to express their concern.

The Hague Convention on Child Abduction allows for claims by parents who have had their child abducted.

One person comments, if the only thing the “Fisheries Department will do is just check the certificate? There is no other responsibility here?” Thai authorities and government officials have responded to the backlash that the fish have been checked and comply with the low levels of radioactivity allowed by the Thai Food and Drug Administration.

In Thailand, it is illegal for imports to contain more than 100 Becquerel of iodine and 131 kg of combined concentrations of caesium.
